Amanda Church
This year has seen a complete change in painting style for Amanda. Given the name Pigcasso, Amanda was inspired to research the artist in more detail. He was a prolific painter as well as a sculptor, print maker, ceramicist and theatre designer, this experimental style allowed her the freedon to explore. She has included many of his styles - cubism, figure and collage work together with his love of african art and harlequins.
Anna Partington
Anna is a full-time freelance artist and photographer living in Pulham Market, Norfolk. Inherently a creative soul from a young age, she studied foundation in art and design, a degree in press and editorial photography and worked in photojournalism before finding her path back into art. She is now focused on producing her abstract paintings and commissioned works with lots of colour and organic shapes. Much of her inspiration comes from the natural world and the patterns that occur in our environment and incredible plant life.
Bridget McIntyre
At school Bridget was told she was poor at art and so she stopped painting. That all changed following a conversation between a local artist Mary Harding and Bridget’s husband. When he told her Bridget’s story she said “bring her to me, I’ll teach her” and so over 20 years ago Bridget began painting. Since then she has spent time with artists in the UK and overseas developing her skills and discovering her love of art. She had the most fantastic mentor, Win Fenning, who built her skills, inspired her, gave her confidence and a love of art. A completely different place from where Bridget was as a little girl.
Christopher Lenton
Christopher studied Graphic Design at Birmingham Polytechnic, gaining his MA in 1987. Following this he spent some time working as a freelance illustrator before embarking on a PGCE course at Bretton Hall, Wakefield. In September 1990 he joined the Art Department at Framlingham College and has taught there ever since. Christopher is currently Head of Art at the Prep School.
Cora Studios
Rachael took the leap into self-employment founding Cora Studios in 2019 having worked in the education sector. She is now a full-time freelance illustrator and graphic artist and is terrified and elated in equal measure!
Supporting clients with a wide range of disciplines, including graphic art, digital marketing and communication, illustration, and website design, she is never ever bored!
Rachael is an East Anglian through and through; born in Cambridge, raised in Suffolk, and now living on the Norfolk Broads.
Rachael feels privileged to have had the opportunity to design her own pig this, her second, year after designing the logo and marketing literature since the trail began.
Daniel Ralph
Daniel has been a full time Community Pharmacist for 7 years. His hobbies include interior design and gardening, making both architectural and sketch style drawings when coming up with ideas and mapping them out. However he hasn't picked up a paint brush since his GCSE art (except for decorating a wall).
David Pringle
David volunteered to paint a mini sculpture last year and was pleased when asked to create the Jubilee Sculpture in the Platinum Jubilee year. He worked briefly in the sign industry at a young age so prefers to work with precision and straight lines.
Ellie Hignett
Ellie studied art and product design at school as well as AS-Level. She is mostly creative in her spare time by drawing, painting and primarily digital illustration
Hannah Gardner
Hannah is a professional Pastry Chef and live and works in London. She is a massive foodie so she's either cooking or consuming, like the majority of her family! Sport, mostly rugby, is a massive passion of hers, painting has never been a forefront of her life but after many years in the kitchen creating and developing dishes, brush work has been a fun skill to play with and learn over the past few months.
Ian Last
Ian has been a wildlife and Landscape artist for over 20 years painting and drawing Suffolk’s wildlife, particularly birds. He works in most mediums, pencil, acrylics, oils and now even sculpture. He has a realistic style and tries to portray the beauty of our country’s wildlife.
To celebrate the Platinum Jubilee, there are an amazing 70 species in Ian's sculpture. I am inspired by, and love working from the coast and landscapes. I enjoy using a range of mediums, including paint and clay and have recently also been taking my ideas from farm animals and horses.
Janie Swerling Hall
Janie went on a one day painting workshop in Cornwall 12 weeks ago. She came home bought some paint and started painting for the first time. Her everyday observations are inspired by the brightness and jolliness within them. She loves painting in a naive and abstract way to capture simplicity and happiness. As a trained cook she brings the process of cooking to her paintings. A pinch of colour. A dollop of neon and gold leaf to taste.
Jeannie Gardner
Jeannie is a foodie, gardener and art lover. She studied art and art history at school (long ago!). She is influenced by her lovely neighbour Bridget who generously lets her loose in her art studio and also by a wonderful, eccentric and fun school art teacher, Miss Gordon.
Jenne Foulger
Jenne studied within the Art and design field at both College and University and has continued it as a hobby since. For the past 20 years she has followed her passion for art around her job and motherhood. She has found an enthusiasm for painting stones and focusing on her love of birds, butterflies, wildlife and spending time at the beach.
Joy Evitt
Joy lives in Eye and is passionate about all aspects of costume and textiles. Teaching for nearly 40 years enabled her to build up a diverse knowledge base that includes historical events that have affected peoples lives and are now woven into the history of costume and textiles.
Judith Hunt
Judith is a local artist living and working in Yaxley, Suffolk. She runs a business called M.J Education Soutions Ltd with her husband. Work consists of ceramics, glass, painting and photography. She also uses her previous experience within education to promote art skills, providing workshops in her art studio.
Kate Orton
Kate is a painter, photographer and designer, originally from Bedfordshire. She studied Fine Art at Surrey Institute of Art Design in Farnham before going on to become a professional photographer in London. Upon relocating to Suffolk, Kate qualified as an art tutor and for the past 15 years she has run an art class in Eye and an annual residential.
Mac McIntyre
Part of the McIntyre family, Mac has always been creative and, since his teens, he has been known for his graphic art in Suffolk. His art can also be found in Reading where he was a student, in London where he worked and in Bristol where he learned from Banksy. Mac has been interested in the hip hop culture for 40 years.
PachArtStudio
The artist has a fine art degree, studying and exhibiting in London and Norfolk as well as Suffolk. They enjoy experimenting with different mediums, with an interest in mark making. Inspired by wildlife, landscapes and seascapes of Suffolk and beyond. Recently selling linocut at the Lettering Arts Trust, Snape. Their work ranges from bright colourful pieces to subtle ethereal tones, from small to large in scale. They have worked on several commissions, including portraiture and pet portraits. As well as 2D work the artist is currently working on 2 metalwork sculpture commissions. PachArtStudio has thoroughly enjoyed painting a large pig for the trail this year.
Paul Rackham
Paul is very shy about his artwork, despite being incredibly talented from a very young age. He is a skilled carpenter and has spent all of his working life in the building trade with very little time to pursue his artwork, with the exception of a handful of family commissions and the bedroom walls of his three children Jack, Charlie and Emily. Paul enjoys painting in water colours and acrylics and he painted the distinctive red rose for the Rosedale logo. Some of his recent works include sketches of his children, a canvas of his father who sadly passed away in 2017 and various wildlife images including a barn owl
Sarah Bentley
This is Sarah's fourth year taking part in the Sculpture Trail. Sarah works full time but in her spare time enjoys being creative and is working on various projects. She has recently completed several commisions and is working on various projects. Sarah studied A-Level art at Thomas Mills Sixth Form and has attended various art courses over the years.
Sharon Teague
Sharon lives in the centre of Eye and has lived in Suffolk all her life. As a child she was inspired to create art watching her grandfather painting oil landscapes. Since graduating from Ipswich Art School, she's had a thirty year career as a professional graphic designer. In her spare time, she enjoys experimenting with various art techniques and mediums. Her artworks are inspired by nature and often feature 'negative space' silhouettes within the design
Shelagh Seales
Having retired from a busy life of commuting to London for over four years, Shelagh is now very much enjoying being part of the Blossom Charity/Dream On team.
Painting the hare sculptures last year reawakened her love of art which was always her favourite subject at school. Being married to an aviation enthusiast has certainly helped Shelagh with this year’s project, Piggles!
Stephen Flory
Stephen started painting 40 years ago and even built and painted a rocking horse. He is a keen ornithologist and aviculturist. He loves design and creating new builds. He is inspired by nature and loves living in the Suffolk countryside.
