Following the success of Blossom's much-loved trails featuring brightly painted animals, we're delighted to return this summer, our 8th year, with something a little different—but every bit as special.

From late July and August, the beautiful grounds of Eye Castle will be transformed by Blossoming a Wildflower Trail, a breathtaking installation of 1,000 individually handcrafted metal flowers. Inspired by the beauty of natural wildflower meadows, this unique public art display celebrates hope, growth, and the power of second chances, creating a relaxed and family-friendly experience in one of Suffolk's most historic settings.

Visitors are invited to view a sea of vibrant blooms, taking in the colours, creativity, and atmosphere of the castle grounds. Families can also enjoy a nature-inspired butterfly trail through the town of Eye, offering a fun and engaging adventure for children while providing the perfect excuse for adults to explore too.

Behind every flower is a remarkable story. Each piece has been handcrafted in partnership with ex-offenders and a local prison workshop, helping participants develop new skills, rebuild confidence, and create something truly meaningful. The trail is not only a celebration of art and nature but also a project that supports rehabilitation, opportunity, and positive change within the community.

A standard flower costs £30 while a dedicated one is £45 and can be personalised with a special message, making it a meaningful way to celebrate a loved one, honour a cherished memory, mark a milestone, or show your support for a wonderful local cause. Each flower has been lovingly handmade in partnership with ex-offenders and a local prison workshop. Through the project, participants have the opportunity to learn valuable skills, build confidence, and contribute to something positive within the community. By purchasing a flower, you are helping to support both rehabilitation opportunities and the work of Blossom Charity.

At the end of the summer, the beautifully decorated butterflies and large lowers will be auctioned to raise funds for Blossom Charity. The charity provides special makeover days for women living with or receiving treatment for cancer, alongside coaching, workshops, and wellbeing support that help local people live their best lives.
